Bar spacing
Bar spacing is the gap between cage bars — it must be narrow enough that a small pet can’t push its head through and escape or get stuck; if the head fits, the whole animal usually follows.
It matters most for mice, young rats and dwarf hamsters (which need very narrow spacing) and for gliders (whose cage bars must be closely spaced).
