Heatstroke
Heatstroke is dangerous overheating — a particular risk for chinchillas, guinea pigs and rabbits, which cope badly with heat; signs include panting, lying flat and stretched out, and dullness.
Chinchillas (built for cold mountains) and guinea pigs are especially vulnerable — keep chinchillas below about 18–20°C and guinea pigs under 26°C, out of direct sun, with cooling in summer. Suspected heatstroke is an emergency.
