Rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHDV)

Also called: RHD · VHD

RHDV is a highly contagious, often-fatal virus of rabbits — which is why a routine RHDV vaccine (two initial doses, then yearly boosters) is a core part of responsible rabbit care.

It can spread even to indoor rabbits via people, insects and objects, so vaccination matters regardless of how a rabbit is kept. Myxomatosis is another vaccine-preventable rabbit disease in many regions.
