Diurnal
Diurnal animals are active during the day — the degu is the standout diurnal small pet, awake and sociable when you are, which is part of its appeal.
Being diurnal makes degus unusually interactive for a rodent, but it also means they need daytime enrichment and can’t be tucked away and forgotten.
