Nocturnal
Nocturnal animals are active mainly at night — most small pets (hamsters, mice, chinchillas, sugar gliders) are nocturnal, so daytime is their sleep time and shouldn’t be disturbed.
Handling a nocturnal pet is best done in the evening when it naturally wakes, never by digging a sleeping animal out of its nest.
