Gut-loading
Gut-loading means feeding feeder insects a nutritious, calcium-rich diet before offering them to an insect-eating pet (like a hedgehog or sugar glider), so the prey passes on those nutrients.
Insects can also be dusted with a calcium/vitamin-D3 powder. Together these help prevent the calcium imbalances that cause metabolic bone disease, especially in sugar gliders.
