Obligate carnivore
An obligate carnivore must eat meat to survive — ferrets are the small-pet example, needing a high-protein, high-fat, very-low-carbohydrate meat-based diet, not rodent or rabbit food.
Ferrets have a short gut and fast metabolism and can’t use plant carbohydrates well; sugary or carb-heavy foods can even worsen insulinoma. Feed a proper commercial ferret food, with meat/egg treats only.
