Hamsters & gerbils

The two small pets the pet trade gets most wrong. Hamsters are solitary desert burrowers that need a far bigger cage than they’re sold; gerbils are clan animals that must live in company yet can dramatically fall out (“declanning”). Both want deep bedding to dig.
